The Aquarius Beach Resort

The Aquarius Beach Resort is ideally situated in the National Marine Park of Watamu. The hotel is only 25 km southwards of Malindi and about 100 km from Mombasa.

Luxuriously furnished with Swahili décor, each of the fifty four bungalows have a tranquil outlook onto the leafy tropical gardens. All accommodation is air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms and some lead into neighboring rooms. A self service dining room offers breakfast and lunch whilst an impressive variety of main courses with fresh meat, fish, vegetables and pasta are available for dinner. The cocktail bar offers a unique variety of Kenyan drinks. Baby sitting can be organized if parents need additional help with our younger guests.

There are plenty of things to do in and around Malindi and Watamu. The hotel has its own Massage Center and Hairdressing Salon. The hotel Boutique Shop is available for instant supplies. The local town marketplace or curio shop offers customary Kenyan handicrafts and more luxurious items are sold by the local boutiques.

Safaris are prearranged and guests can visit the local Reserves. Amboseli National Park offers forests and swamps sustaining 56 species of flora and fauna including elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions and leopards and a variety of birds. The Maasai Mara is well-known for the Serengeti migrations when immense herds travel across the landscape in search of water. Day trips to Tsavo East National Park, the largest national park in Kenya are also prearranged. Any travel agent can arrange a custom itinerary for you.

Incorporate a cruise in your itinerary with lunch, barbeque on a mangrove island, or a "sundowner" cruise in late afternoon until sunset. Malindi Golf Club has a pleasant 9-hole golf course overlooking the ocean. Tennis-courts accessible at more than a few local hotels, a squash court at The Driftwood Beach club, the horse riding centre accommodate beginners and experts and bicycles are available for hire.
