Salt Lick Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the privately owned Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a beautiful sanctuary with abundant wildlife and expansive lands. At the foot of the Taita Hills, a small 'city' of residential rooms are on raised platforms, connected by raised walkways. Spectacular views of the waterhole and the surroundings are the result of the elevation. Grasslands stretch out below, where elephant, buffalo and a variety of plains game can be seen throughout the year. Floodlights illuminate the surroundings at night, making it possible to view game at night. An underground game viewing tunnel allows guests to quietly view the goings on of the bush at their leisure, for hours on end.

There are two raised floors with 96 rooms. 90 have twin beds, while 6 have double beds. Room facilities include: view of water holes and surrounding area, private bathrooms with showers, electric current, mosquito netting; electric fan. Your dining requirements are met by the restaurant that serves international and local cuisine. There is a bar and lounge. Enjoy bush breakfasts, barbecue lunches, 'Out of Africa' dinners and sundowner cocktails at Kudu View Point. The park boasts a wide range of wildlife, with more than 50 species of mammals and over 300 species of birds.

Night game drives in the sanctuary bring you tantalizingly close to nature; the sights, sounds and smells. Spotted and striped hyena, various species of mongoose, jackal, civet, genet, honey badger, porcupine and bushbaby are all nocturnal animals that you will see on your amazing night game drive. Night-time predators are also visible on these game drives.
