The Dream of Africa Resort

The Dream of Africa is a select 5-star Resort, set on magnificent silver shores of Malindi. Opened in December 2005, it is a Member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Just 3km from downtown Malindi, The Dream of Africa resort is also very close to Malindi’s Marine Park.

The resort has a vibrant African ambience that has been delicately and wonderfully married with the subtle intricacies of Indonesian design and style. Architecturally, the structure of the resort pays homage to the majestic Indo-Arab palaces of the Mughal period of medieval India – Where comfort and modern living have been reinforced through the luxurious interior design of the Dream of Africa.

The hotel has 35 elegantly well furnished rooms – of which 33 are Junior Suites and two are Executive Suites – Every room has air-conditioning with a private portico-terrace overlooking the wonderful gardens of the hotel. All have satellite TV and free internet connection. Bathrooms are all fitted with a Jacuzzi bathtub, dual washbasins, Shower, WC and bidet in a separate room.

Dining is very flexible, with your choice of open-air terrace dining with a wonderful view of the sea, or indoor comfort of the air-conditioned restaurant. The Mediterranean menu is a feast of the freshest seafood, caught daily. Additionally there is a centrally located Main bar, for enjoying drinks with friends, or intimate company, and also the Pool bar and restaurant, offering snacks, fruits and light meals near the pool. Dream of Africa has its own boutique store, with a variety of products for shoppers to buy. Travelling out to nearby Malindi uncovers a multitude of fine shops offering clothing, paintings and jewellery – there are also many coastal boutiques where plenty of arts and crafts from all over Kenya can be found.

Activities to temp your adventurous self include; windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, snorkeling and diving from the Tropical Beach Resort PADI Centre. Venture out to the Malindi Market, uncover the Gedi Ruins, or a visit to the fascinating Malindi Marine Park and coral gardens which can gladly be arranged.
