The cottages also enjoy spectacular views from the verandahs. The waterhole and plains of the savannah is filled with game and bird life is ample. We easily accommodate vegetarians and guests who have special requests. A selection of books is available in the Saruni Library. Guests also have access to thousands of very rare books also available for the passionate reader.
Safaris can be taken either on foot on the plains and in the mountains and hills that surround Saruni or in landrovers designed to give you maximum visibility and comfort. Bird watchers can enjoy a variety of 500 bird species and we will assist in identifying them. We always carry field guides and binoculars. You can walk with the Masai warriors and learn about their traditions and life. Because wildlife is mostly active at dusk or dawn we often take a trip during these times and explore the sights and sounds up close. There are plenty to do while waiting for the animals, we can visit where no other tourists go and only the Masai walk, herding their cattle with spears, bows and arrows. On our game walks we get intimate with nature touching the trees, bushes, rocks, tracks and we might even get a bit closer to animal droppings. Our guides are all friendly, helpful and all members of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association.
