Mara Safari Club

North West of the Masai Mara and at the foot of Aitong Hills is the Mara Safari Club, positioned on an ox bow of the Mara River. The accommodation is situated in such a manner that the hippo-filled river and the immense wild life activity are visible from your tent.

With the emphasis on game viewing the tents have platforms between them, allowing for superb game-viewing and private dining. Choose from fifty tents of which 42 are twin-bedded and 8 double-bedded. Ten of these double bedded-tents are Premium tents and contain sunken baths in the bathrooms. Each room is immaculately decked out with everything you will need to have a luxurious bush experience. The tents are equipped with a large four poster bed, lamps’ (electrical), dressing table and hand-woven rugs and poster-bed drapes. The bathroom has a shower stall or bath, flush toilets in bathroom, wash basin, Lonrho shampoo, hand and body lotion, shower and bath gel, and freshly laundered towels, solar-heated hot- and cold running water, windows with mosquito gauze and flaps, a flashlight and an umbrella. All tents have square-pin electric sockets for easy charging of video cameras, cameras and other electric gadgets. Adapters are available from Reception.

A high ceilinged dining room seems very inviting with soft lit light and a variety of European, African and Asian dishes, made from the abundance of fresh Kenyan produce. Both breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, while dinner is Table D’hôte, with a choice of main course. Seating Capacity is 90 people. With beautiful views of the Mala River The Lounge and Main Bar allows guests to enjoy each other’s conversations in a fire is lit cozy lounge with a few favorite drinks available such as Liqueurs, beers, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, spirits, tea and coffee. Seating Capacity is 80 people.

Guests can make use of the communal pool, where the environs would be perfect for private cocktail parties. Changing rooms, both the men's and the ladies', have showers. A handful of board games are available for lazy days under the shade of the lush green trees, such as scrabble, and cards are available from the reception. A library and information center is also open during the day at the Club.

There are plenty to do at The Mara Safari Club. Watch the traditional dancing and talks on Masai culture, Game viewing ventures are extremely fun and adventurous and our guides are confident and knowledgeable on all aspects of the area’s natural history. Our resident Naturalist can take you on nature and bird walks or you can take an early morning escorted walk in the Conservation area culminating in a bush breakfast.
