Shella Royal House offers half-board accommodation as well as bed & breakfast. The House is in fact two buildings, constructed of stone and traditionally styled and ornamented with intricately detailed carved entrance doors. The two buildings, four storey and three storey, are relaxingly painted fresh ocean-white. The House has 13 rooms, with en suite facilities, furnished quite masterfully in the traditional Swahili style. Rooms all have fans and a mosquito net is placed above every bed in the House. There is a wonderful terrace on every floor that offers impeccable views of the Indian Ocean, Manda Channel and surrounding village. There is also a dining room with a very well stocked refrigerator, keeping both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for your pleasure.

The service staff at Shella Royal House is expertly trained and is very attentive. There is a permanent gourmet cook specialising in Swahili food preparation and offers guests a vast selection of superb, fresh seafood dishes such as lobster, crabs, prawns and many types of fish. Guests are more than welcome at any time to dine on the rooftop terrace, in the open air, enjoying the mesmerizing village life all around.

Take the opportunity to truly get away from it all. Shella Royal House offers numerous half day, full day, and overnight excursions to nearby archipelago treasures, visit the Islands, explore the coral reefs or simply enjoy the magnitude of the Indian Ocean in our very own dhow “Lkhlasw”. There are wonderful historical sites to visit, isolated fishing towns to explore or maybe take in some snorkeling or fishing. You may even want to camp overnight on one of the deserted beaches with freshly prepared fish dishes served under the archipelago sky.
