Malewa Ranch house is a beautiful holiday home fashioned on the original old colonial farmhouse that was built in the early 20th Century. The Malewa River can be heard rushing nearby. The luxury 5 bedroom house is now located within the boundaries of the magnificent Kigio Wildlife Conservancy. Beautiful gardens stretch from the house to the river; birdsong can be heard in the treetops until dusk.

The sounds of the bush at night attune you to the nocturnal rhythms of nature: the yelping hyena and sounds of the leopard remind you that you are in a pristine land as old as the earth itself, giving you a renewed sense of the universe. The accommodation is luxurious and practical. Rates are all-inclusive of 3 meals a day prepared by the local cordon bleu chef and all drinks (except champagne) are served by the competent and motivated staff. There are five comfortable bedrooms that grace this lovely home. The Rust Room receives early morning sunshine, and is spacious and ‘rust colored’, with twin beds.
The Blue room is a South-facing room with views down river. The Blue and Rust rooms share a bathroom. The Elephant Tapestry Room is the master bedroom. It has an open fireplace and cedar wood floors, with a double bed, sharing a bathroom with the Chintz Room. The Chintz Room has an open fire and cedar wood floors. Comfortable twin beds are fitted, and the room shares a bathroom with the Elephant Tapestry Room. Finally, the Green Room has views over the front lawns. It is a double room that has an en suite bathroom. All rooms are exceptionally cosy and beautifully furnished. There also a spacious veranda that might be used to relax or have a feast with family and friends.
While Malewa Ranch Houses known for its tranquility and relaxation, a range of activities are also available, including: game drives, nature walks, bird watching, fly-fishing, rock climbing and abseiling. Another very popular activity is hiking. Vast expanses extend before the eye, opening up to hikers as they pass through the pristine wilderness.
Take a guide with, to inform you of the medicinal properties of the plants, the behavior and whereabouts of the animals. Bird watching is another activity offered: trained guides will show you some of the 150 species found in the conserve. There is also trout fishing, horse riding, and mountain biking, or go hot air ballooning over Lake Elementeita, a mere 20 minutes drive. There are also many spectacular wildlife reserves in the area that guests enjoy frequenting.
