Chui Lodge is set in the privately owned Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary, a picturesque paradise settled amidst a grove of Euphorbia trees and overlooking a waterhole, the ever present Mau Escarpment broods in the background. The Masai translation for Chui is a “place of peace”, and this 5 cottage Lodge is a tranquil corner of the world. Chui cottages are crafted with materials from the surroundings: simple bush stone, local Acacia, Leleshwa and Olive woods with twisted Marula used for the roofs. Chui Lodge is easily accessed from the road, and is one and a half hours' drive from Nairobi.
Accommodation at Chui Lodge consists of:
Textiles in the Lodge are original batik artworks, made by the resident locals, draped on the walls, bringing a warm ambiance to rooms with earthy colors. Majestic bark-cloth lampshades grace the African antiques. Fascinating carvings on the pillars transport you to a new African dimension of dim lights and amber-feel cottages. The five cottages are built in the same fashion as the main building. Each room has an en suite bathroom and a lovely veranda with its own breathtaking view. Marble basin-tops are fitted in the en suites. Log fires create a communal portal to an entranced African evening. Massive four-poster king-sized beds ensure the comfort of guests. Exclusive attention by the staff is paid to all guests. A heated swimming pool is a short walk from eh cottages, with views of the waterhole and the escarpment. Professionally trained chefs give you a sumptuous choice of diverse multi-cultural cuisine.
The lavish accommodation is accompanied by exciting entertainment. Game drives are excellent to experience the local game in your own private and exclusive game drive with experienced guides. Bush walks offer an exciting alternative: walk around Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary’s lake front, interacting with local ornitholigists. Visit Oserian Flower Farm. The farm grows and exports a wide selection of flowers such as Roses and Lisianthus to the international flower markets. Sundowners are a great way to welcome in the night as the amber colors of fading day melt in the horizon. Champagne bush breakfasts are exquisite: watch the hippo’s return from their nightly foraging. Boating trips allow a unique perspective on the lake.
