The Camp is set on the old Rhino Sanctuary Headquarters. Verdant green lawns and perfectly placed tented accommodation is what you will find at Lewa Safari Camp. With knowledgeable hosts, the camp offers insights into conservation and wildlife management from the best. With high densities of wildlife, it is possible to see all of Africas Big Five on Lewa, and the conservancy provides a refuge for many endangered species too.
The Lewa Safari Camp is made up of a central cedarwood cottage, housing the dining room, lounge and bar with the accommodation featuring: ten double and two triple bed luxury tents that are thatched and rest on raised platforms. All are very comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms that have high pressure hot and cold water, electric lights and flushing lavatories. The campīs excellent chefs cook up delectable, freshly made home fare, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. The comfortable and welcoming lounge overlooks a floodlit waterhole where wildlife comes to drink, and in the evening guests sit around a campfire under the stars.
Activities include game viewing with the option of day and night drives, bird watching and bush walks, lion trekking, visits to N‛gwesi cultural village, visits to the pre-historic archaeological site, fly fishing, wildlife management activities and educational talks on the history and day-to-day operation of the conservancy. Horse riding and camel trekking can also be arranged at an extra cost.
