If you’re going to stay in Kenya, you might as well do so in style. Governors Camp was created in the last century for governors of the colony and their royal entourage to relax and let their guards down.
Accommodation at Governors Camp consists of:
Governor Camp boasts 36 magnificent tents, scattered along the banks of the Mara River, where guests can admire hippo and crocs alike as they sun themselves. The central hotel area is beautifully thatched, with a comfortable lounge, divine restaurant and fully stocked bar. There is also large, refreshing pool and shaded veranda with numerous sun lounges to keep all guests completely relaxed.
These luxurious tents are all fully ensuite, with both hot and cold running water as well as flush toilets. At Governors Camp, one thing is for sure – guests never go hungry! You’ll wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread; to be enjoyed with eggs, bacon, fruit and fine roasted Kenya coffee!
Lunch is also a buffet of roast meats, vegetables and crisp salads, and then afterwards there are mountains of irresistible desserts just waiting to be consumed!
One thing to remember before setting out to Governors Camp is to bring your camera, as there’s plenty to see and do that you’ll want to capture and cherish forever! On the guided game drives, you’ll spot prides of lion as they hunt down the zebra, herds of elephant on their way to splash around in the swamps and even perhaps some cheetah cubs playing with their mother.
Another definite must is experiencing a safari from a hot air balloon! This is an experience never to be forgotten, as you look across the vast plains of Africa!
