A plateau top hideaway overlooking Kenya's Great Rift Valley, just one hour's drive from Nairobi centre.... a mini-lodge for the exclusive use of your party....privacy that is normally beyond one's reach.
Situated on the edge of a ridge between two beautiful gorges on an 80 acre private estate, the view from L'ol Dacha stretches across Africa's Great rift Valley. On a clear day you can see for hundreds of miles into Tanzania to the south and over to the distant Nguruman escarpemnt to the west, with massive Olorgesaille nearly dwarfed by the expanse of the backdrop.
There is a general purpose day room with split level dining room and kitchen attached. There are 3 self-contained cottages with cold water washrooms. the outdoor solar heated shower with sun deck offers very hot water at all times and must boast one of the most scenic views in the world (as does the long drop)
The cottages are powered by generator, cooking is by gas, BBQ or solar cooker. 2 very large efficient cool boxes available to keep food and drink.
There is a cuddle puddle - a cleaned and filtered 5ft deep pool, ideal for cooling off or sitting sipping sundowners on the shelf.
Birds are present in abundance, but game is shy. however most days you will see the resident Chandlers reedbuck, and often klipspringer, eland, baboon, and occasionally buffalo, leopard and aardvark.
This a place for walkers. there are wonderful walks into the valleys, onto the bluff, and just about anywhere you like; completely safe, you will not see another person, but might run into game. Guides can be arranged.
