Kenya has incredible scenic beauty with savannah plains rich with magnificent wildlife, diverse ethnic cultures, and fascinating landscapes that provides endless opportunities for leisure, adventure and discovery.

One of the many wonders of Kenya is the Great Rift Valley that extends from north to south east Africa. The magnificent view of the valley approaching from Nairobi, Kenya, is astonishing as the earth seems to suddenly disappear leaving one to gasp at the enormous expanse of the Great Rift Valley with its stunning panoramic vistas against the escarpment. The valley is interspersed with a few volcanoes, several lakes, grazing cattle, and is inhabited by Masai herdsman, and local dwellers.

The lakes of the Rift in Kenya are beautiful and diverse, and well worth to explore. The freshwater ecosystems of Lakes Nakuru and Bogoria attract thousands of pelicans and pink flamingo’s that feeds on the algae and fish. Species of bird life comprise of heron, fish eagle, and osprey. Wildlife is abundant in this area and visitors can enjoy the rare occasion of viewing black and white rhino in one central location. Other species found in the areas’ National Parks are antelope, monkeys, lion, hippo, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, antelope and leopard. The shimmering freshwater Lake Naivasha’s water is used to water the agricultural farms in the area. The stunning flower plantations, grown for export, will leave the visitor breathless with its beauty. Within the southern shore of the lake area there is an abundance of hotels, guest houses and campsites with stunning views over the lake. An informative museum, Elsamere Conservation Centre, portraying the true story of Elsa the lioness, is located in the area. An hour and a half’s drive from Nairobi the gorgeous Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf resort is located and is a perfect layover for further safari explorations to the sights of western Kenya.

The Great Rift Valley is a haven for bird watchers, nature lovers, game viewers, and geologists interested in the ecological heritage of the region.
